RENEWABLE ENERGY

SOA Knows Ground-Mount Solar PV

Sierra Overhead Analytics has completed design process management and permitting for over 1GW of solar facilities in the continental United States. See below for some of the examples of our expertise.

Solar Developer - 2019 Community Solar Portfolio

Our team completed all engineering, design, and permitting activities for 12-site, 50MW total community solar portfolio. All projects were initiated and completed in a period of 3 months. Construction staking allowed for quick construction prior to the dry season.

Hydrologic Studies - 200MW in the Carolinas

A developer asked SOA to complete detailed hydrology studies for several sites in the Carolinas in a short period. SOA used existing detailed topography or acquired topography for each site as required, then ran simulations of the 100-year storm for each site, generating raster maps of hydrologic conditions along with a summary report. Project completed in 2.5 months.

50MW Facility - Nevada

Provided civil site design, stormwater management, SWPPP, and construction management for a 50 MW solar PV plant in Mineral County, Nevada. The site was located in an alluvial fan in the western Nevada desert. The final design included interior access roads, concrete equipment pads, and a 20’ wide engineered channel to protect the site against the 100-year flood and divert it into an existing jurisdictionally maintained drainage channel. The site entrance was designed with 9 box-culverts to cross the 100-year channel. Construction management and RFI tracking were provided. The design channel was permitted through NDOT.

Great Bay Solar Sites - Maryland

Sierra Overhead Analytics provided civil site design, topographic surveying, stormwater management, and SWPPP services for five solar PV projects totaling 75 MW in Somerset County, Maryland. The project involved development of approximately 500 acres of existing agricultural land for solar. Civil design was coordinated with electrical and mechanical disciplines to develop final site design. The final design included interior access roads, concrete equipment pads, and a sophisticated grading and drainage plan to manage stormwater for a complex system of state delineated wetlands and existing hydraulic structures. The civil site-plan, stormwater management plan, and erosion and sediment control plan was permitted through Somerset County.
